Assistant Technical Grower

This person will be the primary person interacting with the climate computer, utilizing built-in Artificial Intelligence (AI) models to adaptively control greenhouse conditions in real time.
Additionally, this person will be responsible for water chemistry (fertigation) and other grower tasks (pest scouting, growth trials, etc).
The candidate for this position needs to have an interest in horticulture and applied technology to be successful.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Learn and identify irrigation and nutritional needs of various crops daily Manage environment in greenhouses Conduct trials to determine optimal growing parameters Monitor plant growth and root development daily Evaluate plant health daily and report any disease or insect problem Perform water soluble fertilizer applications through fertigation as needed Apply rooting hormones, fungicides and insecticides as needed Distribution of beneficial insects when needed Monitor and replace sticky cards as needed Maintain clean and organized work environment SKILLS Proficient and comfortable using a computer English skills, both written and verbal Ability to communicate clearly with employees and management Convey information in a clear and concise manner Problem solver Establish priorities in work environment OTHER REQUIREMENTS Work in a fast-paced changing environment Flexible work schedule to include some weekends Some late hours are required Maintain records of crop activities and observations Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to multitask and work independently Ability to interact with propagation crew and reassure top quality production (from harvesting to sticking) Suggest, observe and/or embrace propagation processes and techniques in order to improve efficiencies About Panoramic Farm Panoramic Farm is a wholesale nursery and greenhouse outside of Charlotte, NC.
